Controlled Atmosphere(CA) Cold Storage

With continous research and development on the food safety front, there has been new advents to improve the overall shelf life of the Fruit and vegetables. Along with controlling the temperature and humidity conditions, the precise control of gas composition in the surrounding air further helps extend shelf life of fruits and vegetables. Under controlled conditions for extended durations, it helps maintain quality color, flavor, aroma and softening changes in commodities.

In CA Cold Storages most applications use oxygen and carbon dioxide concentrations of between 1% and 5% for each gas. Oxygen (O2), Carbon dioxide (CO2) and Ethylene (C2H4) levels are maintained along with temperature, which is very specific to the fruit/vegetable stored inside the chamber. This helps prevent the development of several unwanted disorder like scalding and growth of decaying organisms. They also helps in slowing the ripening process.With this technology, the products are recommended upto 10 months of long-term storage life fruits and vegetables such as apples, pears, kiwis, cabbage, lemon etc can be easily stored with this system.
